This is the story of an ordinary woman, who sees the extraordinary in every situation and in any new person that crosses her path.

Her name is Virginie, and this is her story.


Best described by a friend as a loving, generous, and caring soul full of surprises, she is one of those who tends to not notice she has run out of gas, until 300 kilometres later.


Virginie conformed to the pressures of society as much as she possibly could; she studied, got married, and had kids. Well, not exactly in this order, but she tried her best to comply with the load of expectations; both the self-imposed ones and those that the community had placed on her.


Fulfilling others' wishes while suppressing her own has contributed to her chronic state of unhappiness, and despite being a rebel in disguise, she always had a happy and smiling façade, and a "kind to all" attitude, even towards those who tried to bring her down.


This book is a raw and real account of Virginie's life events; it will take you on the rollercoaster of her colourful life. You will witness her rebelliousness and her crazy moments; as you read through the pages, you will be laughing and crying at the same time.


Can Virginie ever find the happiness she has been looking for all her life?


The author explores the myths that are associated with relationships, parenting and everything in between, and shares her insights into fighting the very personal battle of the self, which culminates in her discarding the heavy burden of expectations, and finally doing what makes her happy.
