I was a fun-loving grandmother who would go out of my way to create wonderful memories and adventures for my grandchildren. Unfortunately, I suffered a very unexpected debilitating health crisis, and it took me a while to get back on my feet. I knew that if someone very close to me told me this same story, I would feel confused and helpless about what to say or how to get them help. It was just one of those secrets that nobody would be able to keep. They would have to tell someone because if they didn't, something terrible could happen and someone could get seriously hurt or even worse. My secret was revealed late one night in the most humiliating way that I could have ever imagined. Every word of this unbelievable story is true, and I write about it in vivid detail because that is exactly how I remember it. The undying help and support from my children inspired me to share my story. I wanted to let other people who have gone through this know that they are not alone.
