Ice Cream Melts

Ice Cream Melts is a hermeneutic exploration of the basic concepts of life. "Humility is confidence." So begins one of 33 subjects, each handled with the refreshing simplicity and depth of a genre tragically sparse since John began his epistle so long ago. "That which was from the beginning..." has tantalized theologians and philosophers for 2000+ years. No author can hold a candle to John but we can, however, learn the lesson that John gave us and dive unflinchingly into the issues that affect every single one of us with plain explanations instead of theological platitudes. Humans are sensitive and vulnerable: we require simple truth expressed in a straightforward, uncomplicated, and uncompromising manner. "A believer is someone who believes God." "Forgiving is giving of ourselves." Each subject is given four paragraphs headed by the same theme sentence. Each paragraph states its point plainly then shuts up. The 33 subjects cover issues ranging from peace and faith to time and space. Neither more words nor less than required have been given to each subject. Here is an introduction to clarity of thinking without the baggage of philosophy, theology, or filibuster. Deeper issues are left deep. Simple issues are stated simply. Ice Cream Melts is a work for those who enjoy straight truth with simplicity and sincerity.
