A presidential election was held in October 2012 in Venezuela to choose a president for the six-year term beginning February 2013. The main candidates were the incumbent Hugo Chávez, representing the United Socialist Party of Venezuela - Partido Socialista Unido de Venezuela (PSUV) - and Henrique Capriles Radonski, representing Justice First.
