In Dream Changer, Jamila Phillips, mom of three boys (one with the diagnosis of Cerebral Palsy) and Special Education Teacher of almost 2 decades, changes your perspective of special needs parenting. She acknowledges how challenging life can be, but also finds joy in the unpredictable, topsy turvy, LORD HAVE MERCY existence of a special needs parent. While sharing raw and candid snapshots of a day in the life of her world, Jamila will have you in stitches as she shares how she navigates challenges and celebrates triumphs. Dream Changer will uplift, encourage, and give you permission to change your dream.


Jamila Phillips is a military child whose family retired at Fort Jackson in Columbia, SC. She lives in Irmo, SC with her three boys whom she affectionately calls "The Three Wisemen", Andrew, Austin, and Asher. Jamila graduated from Winthrop and Columbia College where she earned her undergraduate and graduate degrees respectively. As an MEd of Special Education, with almost 20 years of experience, she presently teaches Special Education for her local school district. Jamila has also written a multi-genre production entitled The Lovely Ducklings sharing the perspective of special needs families and promoting acceptance and inclusion as well as performing as an actor in several stage plays.
