The Truth About Sex Trafficking

The Truth About Sex Trafficking tells the story of Angela before, during and after she was the victim of sex trafficking. As a child, Angela experienced every imaginable type of child abuse. At the age of seventeen, she was a perfect target when sex traffickers entered her life. By the time she realized what was happening, Angela was "way deep in the game" and didn't know how to get out. Her situation continued to worsen for almost two years, until she was finally able to leave the life of sex trafficking. Now almost two decades later, married with three children, Angela still deals with the effects of being trafficked and abused. As she states in the book, "You don't just get your life together and never have problems again." However, Angela has found a measure of peace after intense counseling and years of hard work to recover. She has helped countless others in her work as an anti-trafficking advocate. The Truth About Sex Trafficking is an honest, unsentimental depiction of the horrors of sex trafficking written by an author with almost twenty years of journalism experience. The book is heartfelt, heartbreaking, and also refreshing in its clear storytelling that does not sensationalize. In addition to hearing Angela's story in her own words, the reader will hear from many others who work closely with sex trafficking victims and survivors, including law enforcement officers, counselors, juvenile probation officers, attorneys, anti-trafficking advocates and many others.
