Domestic violence and gender-based violence have permeated our world, and there has been an increase in incidents exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), "During health emergencies, such as the COVID-19 pandemic, violence against women tends to increase.

Awareness and education are critical methods for addressing domestic violence. This book is for anyone in an unhealthy relationship and services providers-advocates, social workers, therapists, teachers, nurses, HR Departments, Employee Assistance Programs (EAP), etc. It outlines what Power and Control are in intimate partner relationships. The author reflects on her personal experiences with abuse and shares stories from her program participants. She has also included evidence-based research and resources from which victims, survivors, and service providers can benefit.
